Today’s Scripture passage is a classic example of how quickly a mountaintop experience turns into a deep painful valley in the matter of seconds.
Peter, James, and John experienced the glory of God in Jesus with the Transfiguration the night before.
This is as good as it gets to undergo and encounter a “spiritual high.”
Today, Jesus, Peter, James and John are walking down the mountain are going to meet up with the other nine disciples and before they can even greet one another, there is a problem.
And it’s not just a little problem, this is as low as it gets for The Twelve.
We’re going to see one of the biggest fiascos in their ministry today.
