Jesus' Return to Nazareth

Today, the Holy Spirit will teach us what happens after King Herod dies. Remember, Herod was the one who wasn’t able to kill Jesus as he planned—so he got angry. Herod’s plans were disrupted by God. He thought that the Magi tricked him, but it was really God who caused a divine disruption to both Herod’s plans and the Magi’s traveling schedule. Herod ends up losing his mind, flies into a rage, and chooses to murder babies. A year or so after this event, Herod dies, and now Matthew flashes back to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. This is where we pick up the narrative for today.
