Jesus and Jonah

At first glance, today’s passage seems familiar. Once again, we have the Jewish leaders picking a fight with Jesus. These men are trying to get Jesus off mission. These worldly men are interested in what worldly men today are interested in—a spectacle—the spectacular and supernatural things of God. They want to see Jesus put on a show—they want to be entertained—not saved—like so many church goers today.

We’re going to see two things today. First, we’ll also see how Jesus deals with religious bullies. Second, we’ll see how Jesus always brings everything back to the heart of the matter. What’s the heart of today’s matter? Let’s find out!
