All In

This sermon explores Matthew 26:6–13, set in Bethany at Simon the leper’s house, just before Jesus’ final days. Mary of Bethany breaks an alabaster jar of extremely expensive perfume and anoints Jesus’ head and feet as an act of total devotion, symbolically acknowledging Him as the anointed King and preparing His body for burial. The disciples, led by Judas, react with outrage, calling it a waste and arguing the perfume should have been sold to help the poor, revealing a pragmatic mindset and misplaced priorities.
