The Plot to Kill Jesus

Jan 18, 2026    Dustin Daniels

Matthew 26:1–5 shows Jesus telling his disciples that he will be handed over to be crucified at Passover. At the same time, the chief priests and elders meet at the house of Caiaphas to secretly plan Jesus’ arrest and death, but they decide not to do it during the feast because they fear a riot among the people.

This short scene reveals that Jesus is fully aware of his coming death, while the religious leaders work in secret and are controlled by fear of public reaction, all as Passover approaches.
