Today, we’ll finish studying Jesus’ sermon. As Jesus closes, His tone changes. His tone of holy indignation and righteous wrath softens to profound sadness and sorrow for the nation of Israel. Why? Verses 37-39 serve as a bridge from the prophecy about the spiritual fate of the scribes and Pharisees to the physical fate of Jerusalem and the Temple itself.
